Government Revealed a Portfolio Containing 19 Projects of the Most exciting Investment Opportunities

The Government has revealed portfolio containing 19 projects that show a number of the most exciting investment opportunities across the Midlands area. This portfolio is to be showcased to International investors and supports the government’s commitment to the plans to redevelop the Midlands, through schemes like Midlands Engine. This scheme builds on the plans made by the Midlands Engine Strategy and Midlands Engine Trade Summit.

The Portfolio of projects that are ready for investment was launched at the UK government’s first ever MIPIM pavilion. The largest international property tradeshow MIPIM can be attended by more than 5,000 investors from over 90 countries. The UK Government’s portfolio contains projects that are involved in major infrastructure, regeneration and also business development projects.

The Midlands Engine Investment Portfolio has been created to promote some of the developments in the region which could lead to the most transformation in the region. This variety of different projects in the portfolio could attract attention from a wide range of investors, which could lead to a large amount of redevelopment in the Midlands.

The investment opportunities include larger scale regenerations within the thriving centres of Birmingham, Derby and Nottingham. Other projects include the National Space Centre in Leicester as well as the development in Coventry that will see the creation of the first purpose-built business district.

The portfolio of projects in the richly commercially and industrially historical Midlands was compiled by the Department for International Trade in partnership with the Midlands Engine team. This portfolio could allow the projects access to an audience that could speed up the growth in the area. The region has a good reputation for attracting foreign investment, so it is hoped that having a pavilion at MIPIM will allow the projects chance to engage with this important sector as well as build on that reputation for investment.
