Ekeri Manufactures FNA and FRC Trailers as Standard

Ekeri Trailers, a Finnish side-opening vehicle body specialist manufacturer has announced that they will be producing a range of ATP-certified trailers that will be available for customers to use in general distribution and urban applications. The FNA/FRC has certified the trailer body to ATP standards and makes sue that the vehicles that have been manufactured are versatile transportation units that are well suited for carrying foodstuffs, parceled goods and perishable or sensitive loads.

In June last year, the specialist food ingredients supplier, Wellocks, added a temperature controlled Ekeri trailer to its fleet. This additional vehicle has been beneficial for the company and has helped them to reduce food miles while also speed up the delivery of fresh products for the customers they supply in the restaurant, pub and hotel industries.

The side-opening of the vehicle is beneficial for Wellocks, as they have easier access into the vehicle for loading and unloading. The company said that they have managed a speedy 40-minute turnaround of emptying and restocking the trailer at their depot when trying this method of unloading and loading produce for the first time. The Class A FNA refrigerated trailer is known for being the first of its kind supplied by Ekeri in operation in the UK. The temperature control feature on the vehicles allows for ambient and chilled products to be carried at temperatures as low as 4 degrees and can help the company to save at least half an hour on each daily run carried out.

All of the products that are manufactured by Ekeri are ATP type-approved FNA and FRC bodies and are available with a fully opening side and are equipped for multi-temperature purposes in order to suit a range of specifications for movable, insulated bulkheads. The bodies of the Ekeri-manufactured vehicles also fulfill the strict quality requirements for transportation of foodstuffs.
