ABT Loadmac Ltd has designed and manufactured the fleet of forklift trucks that have been supplied to Barrus as a part of an order that has been made to replace their existing 15-year-old Moffett truck mounted forklift trucks. The new vehicles have been manufactured in Ross-on-Wye by ABT Loadmac, and include a number of unique features. The new fleet of Loadmac 825 iSR, or integrated Second Reach, 3.1 forklifts have been manufactured so that they are powered by Yanmar diesel engines. The Yanmar engines were supplied by Barrus, who is the UK distributor for Yanmar. The selected Yanmar 4TNV88-BDYE 49hp diesel engines were delivered to Loadmac in order to be installed in the new fleet by the Transport Manager, Rob Malone.
The new forklift trucks have recently been collected by the Barrus transport team. The Transport Manager, Rob Malone, has had the opportunity to see the new fleet in action with the chosen engines as they were collected. Over the course of the last decade, Barrus and Loadmac have developed a strong relationship. The previous fleet of Moffett forklifts have been refurbished by Loadmac to a high standard over their lifetime. Because of their strong relationship, it was decided that the manufacturing company were the perfect choice to be the supplier of the new fleet.
This type of forklift is carried on the back of other vehicles, therefore the manufacturer worked extensively in order to create a machine that is able to withstand the elements while also being able to meet their clientâs needs for a higher than standard lift capacity. The upgraded forklifts have been designed so that they are able to lift 3 tonnes without having to compromise on size and weight, which would then have a negative impact on the towing vehicleâs fuel consumption or load capacity.
