With over 60 years history as a company within the sewing trade we began by offering sewing needles and later trimming knives into the footwear industry.  Steadily the company grew and increased the product ranges offered to include sewing machine spare parts, scissors and shears from leading European manufacturers with an emphasis on quality and reliability.

Over the last 10 years we as a company have again developed and restructured to gain a reputation for supplying and supporting our customers with sewing machinery.  Starting with machinery for the manufacture and closing of industrial bulk containers and bagging equipment around the world.

We now specialise in the technical areas of the sewing trade with heavy duty equipment for the shoe, upholstery and automotive industries along with the recent addition of the fabric welding equipment to our portfolio.

We are proud of our reputation for offering quality equipment and a reliable service backed up by our product knowledge and training over the years.  We strive to continually develop our working relationships with all customers by offering an unrivalled level of support and assistance.

We have been in the market more than 70 years. Being part of an ever-changing sector like machine tools has has forced us to renew, reinvent ourselves and improve our production processes with the only purpose of offering the best cnc lathes.

During all this time, we have improved our manufacturing process. We produce strong, precise and reliable machines. The secret of our lathes is inside them, we manufacture practically all its parts in companies of our group. This has helped us to acquire a very broad and professional vision of the product.

Another of its flagships is its after-sales service. It has a friendly technical assistance service that makes every effort to ensure the machines are synonymous with quality. The result? Machines with a life cycle of more than 20 years. In this time, CMZ stays close to its clients, and is available to resolve incidents and to give advice and training.

Founded in 1984 by Christopher Pemberton, Pemberton Engineering has been manufacturing press tools, jigs and fixtures for over 35 years. The company started by manufacturing small press tools for the lock industry, which was still flourishing in the Black Country.  As this industry began to decline in the 1990’s Pemberton began manufacturing small tools for the automotive sector.

The company soon found itself manufacturing larger tools for lorry and tractor components, and over the past 10 years Pemberton has been manufacturing tools for Tier One automotive suppliers. The size and complexity of the tooling it supplies today has grown far beyond its early days with more complex progression tooling becoming the new norm. 

The company has invested heavily over the past decade in new CNC Machinery, Wire Eroders and CMM (coordinate measuring machine) equipment. With the next generation of the Pemberton family taking over the running of the company, the future is bright and full of new opportunities. In 2018 the company purchased its neighbouring industrial unit to double its production facility and has undertaken the process of gaining AS9100 accreditation for the aerospace industry.
