Mech-Tool Engineering Appoints new Managing Director

The leading product manufacturer operating in the North East of the UK has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director. Mech-Tool Engineering is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of fire, blast and heat hazard solutions. The new appointment has been made as a part of plans to drive the business forward.

A new Managing Director has been named following the implementation of a programme that has been created to strengthen the senior management teams. Anthony G Jones has been revealed as the new Managing Director for the Darlington-based company. Anthony has been working at the Mech-Tool Engineering Limited since 2015, when he joined as a Business Development Director for Fire and Blast. In 2017, Anthony was promoted to Divisional Director of Modular Solutions and has been instrumental in boosting business operations as well as a project delivery and securing more business for the product manufacturer.

In his new role, Anthony will be in charge of leading the UK business as well as its Korean subsidiary. Anthony will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role, and has a strong commercial and operational background with more than 28 years’ experience in manufacturing and engineering. Over the course of his career, Anthony has amassed a significant amount of experience in the Oil and Gas, Process and Energy Sectors. Anthony has also held an executive director and senior management roles at a number of leading European engineering companies, working to take on new major projects and business throughout the UK, Norway, South Korea, Kazakhstan, India, SE Asia and the Middle East.

The product manufacturer and supplier of fire, blast and heat hazard solutions has a solid pipeline for the next 12 months and no doubt Anthony, in his new role as Managing Director, will be able to take the business forward and make the most of the opportunities that will come when market conditions improve.
