New Head Appointed for J. Murphy & Sons Limited

A new head of innovation has been appointed for J. Murphy & Sons Limited. The company is a leader around the world in multi-disciplined engineering and construction company. Murphy was established in 1951 and aims to provide a wide variety of different construction services. The business works within the infrastructure sector which includes working on projects in rail, water, power and natural resources.

J. Murphy & Sons directly employs in excess of 4,000 people who are either engineers, professional managers or skilled operatives. The company has a number of different capabilities that it specialises in. These different specialties include pipelines, process, marine, tunneling, and pilling. Murphy invests strongly in its substantial holding of a plant, equipment and other facilities. The company works in the UK, Ireland, Canada, the USA, Australia and Africa.

The new appointment is of the former Crossrail innovation programme manager. Will Reddaway has been given the role of head of innovation at J. Murphy & Sons Limited. The role of Will Reddaway will be to work across the various businesses in the company in order to deliver the innovation strategies that have been created in accordance with the objectives laid out in the ten-year plan for Murphy.

Will Reddaway was heavily involved in the Crossrail innovation programme. This award winning Innovate18 programme evolved into the Industry Innovation Programme, I3P, before joining J. Murphy & Sons. Due to his work experience it is thought that Reddaway will be the perfect appointment. During his time at Crossrail Will had access to cutting edge innovation which will give him enough experience for his new role. Murphy intends to create a culture of innovation which will filter in to their projects with new technologies and products.

Murphy has an excellent reputation that will allow Will to inject some more vibrancy in to the innovation capabilities of the business.
