Italian job for Walker Logistics : Tenuta Marmorelle, whose range of premium quality Italian olive oil, pastas and antipasti products, are sold by high-end delicatessens and farm shops and, increasingly, are demanded by restaurants across the UK as cooking ingredients, have outsourced control of their UK supply chain to Berkshire-based, Walker Logistics.

Walker will receive weekly deliveries of palletised product loads from Puglia, Italy which will be stored at the logistics specialist’s 200,000 sq ft ambient temperature, multi-user warehouse near Reading before being picked, packed and dispatched as required.

Initially, the contract is for B2B services only, but e-fulfillment work is expected to begin in due course ‘ in-line with Tenuta Marmorelle’s market development strategy.

Tenuta Marmorelle is growing rapidly and needed a supply chain specialist that could cope with its growth. But, the company was put off working with some of the biggest 3PL operators because it wanted a partner with the agility to respond swiftly and more flexibly to its future requirements, commented William Walker, sales and marketing director of Walker Logistics.

He added: We are naturally delighted to add Tenuta Marmorelle to our rapidly expanding client portfolio.

Established in 1999, Walker Logistics offers a comprehensive range of bespoke logistics services to a broad range of clients from a modern facility close to Junction 14 of the M4.
